Founder & House Manager
Annette Crandall, B.S. is the Founder of WINDS Recovery House, a Sober Living House for Women Integrating New Directions in Sobriety. Annette has worked in the AODA field from 1990 to 2007 in all aspects of the field including inpatient behavioral medicine, detox, IOP, adolescent treatment, family education, and DUI assessing. She has also worked with women in Eating Disorder Recovery and has conducted Smoking Cessation Groups and Nurturing Parent Programs. After raising her four children an empty nest has allowed for the time to have her dream come to fruition. In recovery for over 30 years, Annette has gained insight into alternative medicine, energy work, Reiki, Essential Oil use, Raindrop Technique and Spiritual practices. She is planning to integrate her experience, strength and hope from these life learned lessons to the Women at WINDS.
Co-Founder & President
Meg Canepa, B.S. her husband and daughter have been a part of the Grafton Community for 22 years. Meg is the President and Co-Founder of WINDS. Meg taught middle school for eight years and currently works as an aide at Grafton Elementary School. Meg is an incredibly organized individual who has given a great many hours of volunteer service to the Grafton Community, a very good listener and she welcomes the opportunity to be a part of helping others.
Co-Founder & Vice President
Lori Sandall, R.N., L.C. is a Registered Nurse, Vice President & Co-Founder of WINDS. For over 30+ years she has worked as a Life Coach and Group Leader for clients challenged with chemical addiction, as well as a magnitude of behavioral health diagnoses. About ten of those years she also cared for children and adolescents dealing with behavioral health needs, including chemical addiction.
Lauren Johnson, B.S., is the Secretary for WINDS Recovery House. Lauren graduated from UW – La Crosse with a BS in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Mount Mary University. She is a board certified and registered OTR in the state of Wisconsin. She currently works full-time in a Partial Hospitalization mental health program and in the Inpatient Behavioral medicine unit, both at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital. She has a passion for working with those with mental illness along with those struggling with substance abuse because she believes there is still a huge stigma and wants to work to end that stigma. She believes WINDS will be able to help many women.
Tracy Day, B.S., Treasurer for WINDS, Tracy joined the WINDS Board of Directors as Treasurer in January 2017. She graduated with a B.S. in Management from Purdue University in 1996, and before having children, worked in sales for both the telecommunications and pharmaceutical industries. She finds it truly satisfying to be able to contribute to the recovery of other women by drawing on her own life experiences. WINDS offers a unique opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of
others, and for that she is deeply grateful. Tracy lives in Cedarburg with her husband, 2 children and 2 dogs.
Heather Theder, B.S., is the Volunteer Coordinator for WINDS. Heather studied and graduated from UW-Madison. Her work was in retail management for 8 years before becoming a stay-at-home mom to raise her two daughters now 25 & 20. During that time, she served and was active in various groups such as Northshore Presbyterian Church as a Sunday school teacher, served on PTA Boards, served as Secretary for Whitefish Bay Soccer club, and was a Girl Scout Leader. Heather is thrilled to be a part of WINDS Recovery House and is passionate about serving women in recovery.
Sharon Duncan, Co-Volunteer Coordinator for WINDS. Sharon works full time, is the face of Shorewood House in Milwaukee, dedicates her time to Meta House, and does various service in the community. Sharon lives in Milwaukee with her teenage daughter.
Mental Health Nurse
Amy Fortemps is a Certified Mental Health Nurse who is passionate about working with others who want to overcome their addictions and create a better and healthier life for themselves. She has had the privilege of working in Substance Abuse Treatment Facilities for the past 25 years and looks forward to serving the women and children who enter WINDS Recovery House.
Matthew Kuehn is an Enrolled Agent & Business Service Specialist with H&R Block. He became a Franchisee in 2010 and a multi-office Franchisee in 2011. Matt is also an instructor for many levels of Tax Training. On a volunteer basis, Matt is the Co-founder of Memorial Go-Kart Inc., (a local non-profit that promotes community building and has awarded over $20,000 in scholarships since inception in 2008). Matt’s volunteer experience has been in many areas; Columbia St. Mary’s Volunteer (IOP program speaker) 2010-2015, Ozaukee County Jail Volunteer (AODA program speaker) 2008-2014, Secretary of Area 75 Southern Wisconsin 2011-2012 (local non-profit), and Treasurer of Area 75 Southern Wisconsin 2013-2014 (local non-profit). He has also assisted many local non-profit organizations in obtaining, re-applying for, and maintaining tax- exempt status with the IRS.
Public Information Officer (PIO)
Shannon Luckey-Miller, B.S., is WINDS Public Information Officer (PIO). Shannon Luckey-Mueller is a communications professional with over 10 years of experience in radio, television, and print and over a decade of experience in nonprofit management. She holds a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University and won an Emmy award for pubic affairs programming. She currently works as Communications and Outreach Director for TOPS Club, Inc., a weight-loss and wellness organization serving 125,000 members in thousands of chapters throughout the United States in Canada.
